Cops on ground directed to ensure safe passage of COVID warriors in Kashmir | KNO

Srinagar, May 26 (KNO): The police top brass has asked the cops on ground to facilitate the smooth passage of coronavirus warriors especially doctors and paramedics in the valley. This order form government comes in backdrop of the two back to back incidents where a senior on call doctor in Srinagar alleged police of beating and detaining him and on Tuesday chief medical officer Bandipora was allegedly stopped for almost an hour when he was on way to quarantine centers. Officials told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), that top police officials have communicated with the district police chiefs to ensure safe passage of coronavirus warriors especially that of doctors and paramedics. An internal communique, available with news agency KNO reads: “Please brief all the police officers/officials deployed at COVID related duty and at naka points to facilitate the COVID warriors, especially doctors and paramedics smoothly”. It reads that, “you are advised to hold a meeting with the concerned CMOs and request to brief the doctors and paramedics to co-operate with police”. The order according to news agency KNO was issued from the officer of Jammu and Kashmir police chief (ZPHQ) on Tuesday —(KNO)
